As the cooler weather moves in, you’re going to need something to warm you up. Rum makes for a really great cold weather cocktail base. Here are some of the best fall rum recipes for you to try.
Dark and Stormy Cocktail from A Couple Cooks
- 4 ounces (1/2 cup) ginger beer
- 2 ounces (4 tablespoons) dark rum
- 1 lime wedge
Fill a high ball glass with ice. Pour ginger beer over ice with rum on top. Garnish with lime wedge. Stir and enjoy!
Hot Buttered Rum From Amanda’s Cookin
For the spiced butter:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
For the cocktail:
- 3 cups boiling water
- 6 ounces rum
- 1 ounces orange juice
- orange zest
Place the brown sugar, butter and spices in the bowl of your stand mixer and beat until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes). Scoop 2 tablespoons of your spice butter into each glass. Add 1 1/2 oz of rum into each glass and top with 3/4 cup boiling water. Stir to mix and add a splash of orange juice and top with orange zest.
Hot Apple Cider with Rum From Food Network
- 1 apple
- 2 teaspoons whole cloves
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 2 quarts apple cider
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- pinch grated nutmeg
- 1 cup dark rum
- cinnamon sticks for garnish
Press the cloves into the apple which you have washed. In a small post combine the clove apple, orange, apple cider, brown sugar and nutmeg. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Discard the apple, divide into mugs, add rum and garnish with cinnamon stick.
