As you snuggle up on the couch this fall, give your Old Fashioned a make over with these fantastic fall flavours.
Grilled Orange Old Fashioned by Country Living
- 1 navel orange, sliced
- 4 dashes Angastora bitters
- 4 maraschino cherries
- 8 oz. bourbon or rye
Preheat your grill to medium-high.
Place orange slices on the grill and leave, turning occasionally, for 2-4 minutes or until charred.
Muddle oranges, Angastora bitters, and maraschino cherries in a pitcher until fruit is slightly mashed. Stir in bourbon or rye.
Serve over ice.
Maple Old Fashioned by Liquor.com
- 2 oz. dark rum
- 1/2 oz. maple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- orange twist
Add the dark rum, maple syrup and Angostura bitters into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.
Fall-Spiced Old Fashioned Cocktail by Simply Recipes
For the infused bourbon:
- 2 cups bourbon
- 1 whole star anise
- 2 whole cinnamon sticks
- 12 whole cloves
- 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
For the Fall-Spiced Old Fashioned (makes one cocktail):
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon water
- 4 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 oz. infused bourbon
- ice
- orange peel
Infuse the bourbon:
Place bourbon and spices in a glass jar with a lid. Allow to infuse for 24 hours, shaking occasionally. Strain the bourbon into a clean jar. (This makes enough for 8 cocktails)
Make the cocktail:
Add the maple syrup, water, and bitters to the bottom of an old-fashioned glass. Add the ice and the bourbon, and stir for about 30 seconds. Rub a piece of orange peel around the rim of the glass and drop it in.
