The Booze Bus organizes a free bus ride for their customers to go south of the border to our warehouse where you can choose from a wide variety of your favourite drinks and save up to 40% on LCBO prices. But what about duties and taxes? Is that even legal? Let’s answer all your questions so you can get all your favourite drinks at the best prices this festive season!
Is it Legal?
It is 100% legal: Canadian citizens of drinking age have the right to drive to the USA, purchase up to 45L of liquor and bring it home for personal use. In order to take a Booze Bus tour, you must:
- Be an Ontario resident 19 years of age or older
- Use that liquor for personal use only (no resale permitted)
- Be permitted a maximum of 45 litres
- Pay all applicable import duties and taxes
Is it really Free?
The Booze Bus ride is really free. We have a number of pickup locations and dates which you can see here. Please book your trip in advance as our buses fill up quickly! What you need to book:
- Name, as it appears on your Ontario Drivers License
- Date of birth
- Phone number
- Address
- Your selected departure date & location
What about Taxes and Duties?
Our prices, even after taxes and duties, are 40% and up to $1,125 off LCBO prices. Visit our price list and you’ll see the price of all our alcohol as well as the taxes and import duties for each brand so you know exactly what you’ll be paying.
