3 Gin Cocktails to Start the New Year Right

Happy new year to all our incredible Booze Bus patrons and thank you for all your wonderful support in 2022.

Here’s to a very happy and healthy 2023. To help you toast the new year, here are some superb gin cocktails just for you!

Southside Fizz by The Drink Blog

  • 3 oz. gin
  • 3/4 oz. lime juice
  • 3/4 oz. lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz. mint simple syrup
  • Prosecco
  • Sprig of mint

Make your mint simple syrup by placing 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water and a sprig of mint in a small pot over medium heat. Simmer for 1 minute, stirring to ensure all sugar is melted then strain out mint. 

Add your gin, lime, lemon, and mint syrup to your shaker with ice. Shake. 

Strain into your coupe. 

Only fill half, and top with Prosecco. 

Garnish with a sprig of mint. 

Classic Negroni by BBC Good Food

  • 25ml gin
  • 25ml sweet vermouth
  • 25 ml Campari
  • ice
  • slice of orange

 Pour the gin, vermouth and Campari into a mixing glass or jug with ice. Stir well until the outside of the glass feels cold. Strain into a tumbler and add 1 large ice sphere or some fresh ice, and garnish with an orange slice, using a blood orange when in season. 

Tom Collins Cocktail by Cookie and Kate

  • ice
  • 2 oz. gin
  • 1 oz. lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • Club soda or sparkling water
  • 1 lemon round or 1/2 orange round
  • 1 cherry

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake for 20 to 30 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is really cold. 

Fill a Collins (tall) glass with ice. Strain the contents of the shaker into the glass. Fill the rest of the glass with club soda, and give it a gentle stir with a spoon. 

Garnish with a lemon round or ½ of an orange round, plus a cocktail cherry. Enjoy.
