It’s time for a little festive spirits! Here’s the best eggnog recipe you’ll ever try with lots of holiday love from the Booze Bus crew.
The best nog on the block!
- 6 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup brandy, bourbon, rum or whisky
In a medium bowl, whisk the egg yolks until creamy and lighter in color. In a medium pot over medium-high heat, mix the cream, milk, nutmeg and salt and heat, stirring often. Once simmering, remove from stove.
Pour 1 tablespoon of the heated milk mixture into the eggs and whisk vigorously. Continue to add milk mixture, whisking constantly until all combined. Pour your eggnog back into the saucepan and heat over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens and reaches 160F.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add vanilla and alcohol. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve and store in the fridge until chilled. Serve with a springle of cinnamon or nutmeg.
Store in the fridge for up to one week.
