ALL ABOARD FOR BOOZE SAVINGS
What’s The Booze Bus?
We launched the Booze Bus in 2001 to enable Ontarians to take advantage of a little-known reality that’s 100% legal: The right to drive to the USA, purchase up to 45L of liquor and bring them home for personal use.
Since then, we’ve saved thousands of Ontarians 40% and up to $1,125 off LCBO prices including all import duties and taxes.
Catch a ride on the Booze Bus on any of these upcoming departure dates:
January Saturday 25th,How does
it all work?
You hop on The Booze Bus at one of our pick-up spots, we drive you across the border to Grand Island, between Niagara Falls and Buffalo, in New York State or cross at Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia…for free. You arrive at our warehouse, have a cocktail and some canapés – on us, of course – then we load the liquor into the belly of The Booze Bus and have you back in Ontario in as little as an hour and a half from departure time.
All merchandise must be preordered, as no sales or service transactions occur at the warehouse. The preordered goods are consolidated and consigned to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The transfer of title to the merchandise occurs only after crossing into Canada and the payment of duties and taxes to the CBSA.
Do I need reservations? Yes. We fill up fast. The sooner you make a booking to reserve your seats the better.
Please note that no payment or order is necessary in advance of the trip.
How can
this be legal?
The provincial laws on personal importation of alcohol are clear. If you bring liquor into Ontario from abroad, you must:
- Be an Ontario resident 19 years of age or older
- Use that liquor for personal use only (no resale permitted)
- Are permitted a maximum of 45 litres
- Pay all applicable import duties and taxes
- ***Please note as you are departing Canada for only an hour, you will not be entitled to a 1.14 litre duty-free allowance***
Don’t believe us? That’s OK, nobody does… till they try us – then we can’t keep them away. We invite you to verify for yourself. Click here to view the LCBO personal importation guidelines.
